The Learning Challenge
Welcome to The Learning Challenge, a charitable organization based in the North East of England. We are teachers, headteachers, academics, psychologists and researchers who have pooled our skills to reduce the corrosive effects of disaffection in our schools. We have designed and delivered programmes to help schools, we have trained school staff and researched the effects of our work. It is our belief that by educating ourselves in the emotional and intellectual needs of children schools can offer a curriculum that provokes and supports creative investigation, schools can deliver effective interventions to the traumatized child, and schools can manage behavior and transition in a way that allows teachers to teach and learners to learn to the limit of their ability.
TLC was established in 1994 and has a long and distinguished track record in applied social research into children’s learning behaviours. The tabs at the top of every page will take you to the practice we have established as a result of this research. This website has been put together to inform school practitioners and provide you with some resources to help you and your school move forward in developing and delivering the curriculum.
